Read & Chat at Seven Acres: Volunteers share companionship, enrichment, and mental stimulation with residents at Seven Acres. Every month a different theme is selected, from manicures for Mother’s Day to a yearly Birthday Bash. NCJW GHS members strive to bring added companionship to the residents of the Jewish assisted care facility.
Donny Workman Memorial Lunch Program: NCJW GHS provides lunch, friendship, and art scholarships to the students in the Healing Arts Program at the Art League who are HIV positive or living with other illnesses. Our volunteers celebrate special Jewish holiday lunches by telling the students about the holiday and bringing celebratory food. Volunteers also visit art exhibits with the students. If you would like to help support the program’s lunches, we always welcome home cooked food, leftovers, paper goods, and soft drinks. Learn more about the Art League’s Healing Art program at http://www.artleaguehouston.org/healingart/
West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) Food Pantry Collection:
Non-perishable food is collected at NCJW GHS meetings and events to help those in need. Please consider bringing a donation to our next program.
