Women of Influence 2018

NCJW Greater Houston Section’s annual Women of Influence award honors women who embody our beliefs of courage, commitment, and compassion by putting those beliefs into action.
Tammie Kahn has been the Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of Houston since 1995, where she is responsible for CMH’s direction, management, long term planning, and expansion, which has doubled the learning space of CMH and created an Institute for Family Learning that focuses on improving a child’s math, science, and literacy skills. The Children’s Museum of Houston is consistently ranked among the best children’s museums in the US. Tammie was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Museum and Library Services Board in 2013. She holds a BS from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Carol S. Shattuck recently retired from her position for the past twenty years as President of Collaborative for Children, a nonprofit organization that partners with parents, early education programs, and the community to help young children reach their full potential. Prior to this, she spent four years managing a consulting practice which specialized in strategic planning, board of directors development, process/program evaluation, meeting facilitation, and collaboration development. Carol holds degrees from Duke University and Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business.
