BRANCH DESCRIPTION

Career Branch was formed to meet the needs of members who work during the day and are able to attend evening meetings.  We reach women who work in various industries and positions as well as those who are retired from their careers.  We offer issues driven programming and topics of interest to improve the lives of women and their families.  4/29/12     Dr. Lee K. Feine and Daniel Lee Mattis Scholarship Brunch Scholarship winners will be honored. Save the date – details will follow.

 


  
Scholarships to be awarded   Career Branch will hold its annual Lee K. Feine/Daniel Lee Mattis Scholarship Awards Brunch on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Marvelyn Iweh and Tiffany Han, two very deserving young people, will be awarded a scholarship to be used for their college education.

The awards brunch will be held at 10:00 a.m. and Sheila Johnstone, will be the featured speaker. Ms. Johnston is an experienced legal advisor, pianist, dancer, and designer. Her dynamic personality will shine in a presentation about education leading to success. In her case, success also led to giving back to the community as a volunteer where she extends her knowledge to inspire other to follow her path.

NCJW members and guests are invited. Admission to the brunch is a generous contribution to next year’s scholarship fund. Those who are unable to attend may send a tax-deductible contribution. To RSVP or to make a contribution, call 713-667-5694 or email Joyce Cramer joycecramer@gmail.com.

Lee K. Feine and Daniel Mattis Scholarships

NCJW Career Branch is accepting applications for the Dr. Lee K. Feine and Daniel Lee Mattis Scholarships until February 28, 2012. Eligible applicants must be college juniors or above as of the fall of 2012 and must be preparing for a career in a health profession, education, community or social services, or Jewish Studies. NCJW Human Traffick Stop   Please bring non-perishable items to any meeting. 

WHEB, lead branch for NCJW Human Traffick Stop, is collecting items for the Provisional Supply Bank at the International YMCA’s TPAP.  

CYW and DB recently donated a trunk-full of items to the cause and CB currently is collecting items.
